Why SPA made the change
Maintaining the membership platform became more costly and complex than it was useful. SPA is redirecting those resources toward building community, supporting local causes, and expanding opportunities to play.
Community update
From paid membership to shared service.
SPA is phasing out paid memberships and moving to a volunteer incentive model that better reflects a community giving back through pickleball.
What members need to know
- Memberships expire naturally based on the latest renewal date: one calendar year for a one-year membership, two years for a two-year membership, and three years for a three-year membership.
- No new renewals are being processed.
- SPA may explore a simpler club platform in the future.
Volunteer management
SPA introduced POINT to simplify volunteer signups, scheduling, and hour tracking. Volunteers can browse opportunities, choose shifts, and follow progress toward rewards.
Volunteer incentives
- 2 hours: pickleballs, a SPA gift, snacks, and Pickleball Party invitation
- 4 hours: Tier 1 rewards, 25% tournament discount, and one raffle ticket
- 8 hours: prior rewards, another 25% discount, and another raffle ticket
- Every additional 4 hours: one more raffle ticket
